Walking Speed
Speed is a scalar quantity that represents the distance traveled by an object in a given unit of time.
In kinematic, the speed of an object is the magnitude of its velocity (the rate of change of its position); it is thus a scalar quantity.
were v, is velocity d, is distance and t, is time.
At first knowing your speed was difficult, because you can't easily solve it when you don't do it step by step.
So here are some steps to know your walking speed:
Step1. measure a distance of 10 meters using meter stick or tape measure.
Step2.get a stopwatch to know how many seconds you gonna get when you walk a distance of 10 meters.
Step3.do it again about five times.(or you can call it 5 trials).
Step4. make a of data.
Example:
Trails Time Distance Speed
1
2
3
4
5
Use the solution above:
So to get the average add all of it and divide it by 5.
And there you go u have the answer already. Cool isn't it.
At first its really hard to get the answer if you don't do it step by step. But you can learned many things about it any way.
